IODO 980

For automatically determining
• free SO2
• total SO2

This instrument has been designed for the fast and automatic titration of free and total SO2 in fruit juices and beverages, particularly in strongly tinted red wines, inhibiting the delicate assessment of the end of the titration.

PRINCIPLE
• The appearance of an electric current is detected between the two branches of the platinum electrode in the presence of an excess of oxidant.
• A micro-electrovalve stops the flow of the oxidant solution as soon as the electric current appears.

USE
1. Put in the beaker the sample to be titrated and the reagents:

Free SO2
Total SO2
25 ml of wine
10 ml of wine + 2 ml of soda 2N
+
Wait 5 mn
5 ml of H2SO4 at 1/3
Add 20 ml of H2SO4 at 1/10

2. Start the titration by pushing the "Titration" button.

3. The appearance of an electric current (viewed on microammeter) stops the flow of the oxidant titration solution : you only need to read the volume used and consult the correspondence table.

OTHER ADVANTAGES
• Compact instrument.
• Accurate and reliable measurements (elimination of uncertainty due to visual assessment).
• Type of agitation : mechanichal.
• Burette automatically reset : 10 ml in 1/20 ml.
• Easy-to-use.

CHARACTERISTICS
• Power supply : 220 V- 50 Hz
• Dimensions : 250 x 300 mm
• Overall height : 750 mm
• Weight : 3,5 Kg

The instrument carries the CE (European Community) marking (standards NF EN 55011 band 150 KHz to 1000 MHz, CEI801-2, CEI801-3, CEI801-4, Class B).
