| PRINCIPLE |
| This
instrument is designed for the extraction of alcohol and volatile
acidity in conformity with European regulations (Official Journal
L272 of 3/10/90) and the O.I.V. such as those described in the
Recueil des Méthodes Internationales d'Analyse des Vins
et des Moûts (Compendium of International Methods of Analysis
of Wine and Musts). |
|
- |
| SPECIAL
FEATURES |
Steam generator of high-resistant machine-cut aluminium with incorporated
heating.
Injection, by a dosage pump, of the water necessary for
the generator throughout the entire extraction process (no container
of boiling water).
Automatic pre-heating of the vapour generator with wait
mode for the next extraction.
A stainless steel bubbler with a supplementary heater (2)
assures the distillation without increasing the initial volume
of the sample.
Pressure switch on the inlet for cooling water signals
insufficient pressure in the water line.
Automatic water cut-off between each extraction. |
| - |
| GLASSWARE |
1000 ml bubbler flask + extra 250 ml flask
Rectifying column with Raschig rings (length 35 cm)
Graham cooling coils (useable length 40 cm) |
| - |
| WORK
TIME |
Volatile acidity (20 ml of wine - 200 ml of distillate) : around
5 min.
Distillation (250 ml of distillate) : around 6 min. |

The
two devices eliminate all problems linked to the use of city
water for refrigeration: too high temperature, low flow, faraway
connections, waste of drinking water, high operating cost.
It
allows the distillation of liquids with high alcohol content
(up to 45% vol.) without risk of losses higher than the required
standards (the first drops of distillate that are very rich
in alcohol are collected at a low temperature).
They
are equipped with warning lights on the control panel as a safety
device in case the unit overheats or there is not enough liquid
in circulation. The temperature of the refrigerated bath is
continuously displayed and a pump interlocked with the distiller
circulates the refrigerating liquid.
